Diagnosis. This species is similar to N. abunda sp. nov. in the male genitalia by the valva slightly widened apically, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the sub-triangular basal plate of the gnathos and the elongate digitate lateral processes of the juxta in the male genitalia; while in N. abunda sp. nov., the basal plate of the gnathos is sub-rectangular, and the lateral processes of the juxta are triangular.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 12-17 ) wingspan 14.0–20.0 mm.

Head orange white, mixed with dark brown scales. Antenna orange white; scape elongate, with dark brown scales; flagellum annulated with dark brown dorsally. Labial palpus pale orange, mixed with dark brown; second segment thickened; third segment slender, shorter than second segment.

Thorax and tegula orange white, with dark brown scales. Forewing with costal margin slightly arched, apex obtusely produced, termen gently concave; ground color dark brown mixed with orange-white scales, except below costal margin yellowish brown mottled dark brown from base to 4/5 and pale orange from distal 1/5 to apex, yellowish brown mottled dark brown along veins; costal margin with two dark brown spots spaced along distal 1/5; discal stigma small, rounded, dark brown, surrounded by orange-white scales; discocellular stigma clavate, dilated anteriorly, dark brown, edged with white along inner and outer margins; terminal line dark brown; fringe dark brown, mixed with dark yellowish brown. Hindwing with costal margin straight from base to 3/4, gently concave preapically, apex produced, termen sinuate; ground color pale grey except dark brown between costal margin and M 3 from before middle to termen, with yellowish-brown scales along veins and around apex; area between 3A and dorsum blackish brown, interrupted medially by a white patch; discocellular stigma sub-rectangular, white; subterminal line white, running from distal 1/5 of costal margin to tornus, arched outward; fringe dark brown, mixed with yellowishbrown scales; basal line orange white. Legs orange white, mixed with dense dark brown scales; mid and hind tibiae with tufts of long scales before middle and at apex; first tarsomere of hind tarsus with a tuft of scales apically.

Male genitalia ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 24-30 ). Tegumen with paired, symmetric, large sclerotized processes from posterior margin, folded ventrad distally, connected by a narrow band apically. Uncus short, setose, extended horizontally, arched medially on posterior margin. Gnathos with basal plate sub-triangular and bilobate posteriorly; median process curved ventrad, broad at base, tapered to apex. Valva with basal 1/4 broad, then narrowed to middle, slightly widened from middle to obtusely rounded apex, setose on distal half; sacculus about half length of ventral margin, wide at base, narrowed to before middle, then uniform. Juxta with basal part heavily sclerotized, distal part membranous, trapezoidally produced anteromedially; lateral process elongate digitate, arising from near base, longer than half length of juxta, uniformly wide for basal 2/3, then slightly narrowed to obtuse apex, setose distally. Vinculum broad, rounded anteriorly. Aedeagus shorter than valva, almost uniformly wide, slightly curved, with a small tube bearing dense granules before apex.

Female genitalia ( Fig. 38 View FIGURES 35-38 ). Abdominal sternite VIII emarginated at middle on posterior margin. Apophyses anteriores about 2/3 length of apophyses posteriores. Ductus bursae approximately as long as corpus bursae; ductus seminalis arising from about middle of ductus bursae, much slender. Corpus bursae large, oblong; signum small, fusiform, with dense denticles, at posterior 1/4.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin albus (= white) and maculatus (= maculation), referring to the white discocellular stigma on the hindwing.
