Genus Prosuberites Topsent, 1893 View in CoL
Diagnosis. Thinly encrusting sponges with hispid surface. Skeleton consisting of a single layer, or loose tracts of long tylostyles oriented perpendicularly to the substrate, basal spicules have their heads embedded in a basal plate of spongin. Spicules are tylostyles of variable size, but no distinctly localised size categories (modified from Van Soest 2002b).
