Description. Male. Reddish brown ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 3 – 4 ), length 1.81–1.93. Head wider than long, HL 0.42–0.43, HW 0.43– 0.44, coarsely punctate, median carina distinct, eyes with about 30 facets; antennae long ( Fig. 9 View FIGURES 5 – 9 ). Pronotum about as long as wide, PL 0.43–0.44, PW 0.45–0.46, disc with rough punctations. Elytra wider than long, EL 0.61–0.63, EW 0.73–0.74. Abdomen wider than long, AL 0.41–0.43, AW 0.62–0.63; tergite IV ( Figs. 14–15 View FIGURES 10 – 15 ) larger than V– VII combined, excavation located near base, lateral setiferous patches large, partially covering margins lateral to the excavation, width between discal carinae 0.26; tergite V with big median excavation. Length of aedeagus ( Figs. 17, 23 View FIGURES 16 – 28 ) 0.30.
Female. Similar to male in size, length 1.92–1.99, HL 0.43–0.44, HW 0.43–0.44, PL 0.44–0.45, PW 0.44–0.46, EL 0.56–0.57, EW 0.71–0.72, AL 0.49–0.53, AW 0.66–0.67. Eyes with about 22 facets. Abdominal tergites simple. Width of female genitalia ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 29 – 33 ) 0.28.
Remarks. This species is most closely allied to B. chinensis and shares with it a number of characters (see remarks under B. chinensis ). The parallel sides of the excavation on tergite IV, the lack of small patches mesal to the sides of that excavation, the much wider median impression of tergite V and the forms of the male and female genitalia readily separate this species from B. chinensis .
Distribution. East China (Zhejiang)
Etymology. The species is named after its beautiful appearance.
