Cephennium (s. str.) angelinii sp. n.

( Figs. 37–40 View FIGURES 37 – 40 )

Type material studied. (3 ♂, 1 ♀) Holotype: GREECE: ♂, ” Grecia: Trikala, Valico str. Kastanea-Kranea, 1400 m, 21.5.2005, leg. F. Angelini“ (w, p) / ” HOLOTYPUS, Cephennium (s. str.) angelinii sp. n., det. M. Stevanović 2008.“ (r, p) ( MSNS). Paratypes: (2 ♂, 1 ♀): same data as holotype. All paratypes bear the following label: ” PARATYPUS, Cephennium (s. str.) angelinii sp. n., det. M. Stevanović 2008“ (r, p) ( MSNS, FABI).

Diagnosis. Pronotum semielliptical; in males metaventrite in middle with subtrapezoidal impression and metaventral process slightly broader than 1/4 of maximum metaventral width, posteromesal margin slightly concave; lateral projections as long as broad; aedeagus in ventral view with broadly subtrapezoidal apical part, gradually tapering to rounded apex.

Description. Male. Body length 1.25–1.30 mm, moderately convex, brown, tarsi and mouth parts yellowish, mandibles light brown, setation yellowish.

Head broadest across moderately small eyes; length 0.14–0.15 mm, width 0.25–0.29 mm; frontoclypeal region subtrapezoidal, slightly convex; vertex slightly convex; supraantennal tubercles strongly raised. Frontoclypeal region and vertex with very fine and very sparse puncturation; setation moderately long, very sparse, suberect. Length of antennae 0.48–0.52 mm; antennomeres I–II subcylindrical, 1.3 times as long as broad, III–V slightly longer than broad, antennomere VI subquadrate, VII 1.1 times longer than broad, VIII ovoid, IX transverse, 1.2 times as broad as long, X transverse, 1.4 times as broad as long, XI subconical, 1.4 times as long as broad.

Pronotum semielliptical, slightly convex, widest near middle, length 0.38–0.40 mm, width 0.47–0.49 mm, with broadly rounded anterior margin, posterior margin weakly biemarginate. Lateral carina well-marked, microserrate, sides strongly rounded in anterior fourth, posterior corners blunt. Puncturation very fine, moderately dense, composed of very small and shallow punctures; setation moderately long, suberect to erect.

Elytra oval, elongate, moderately convex, length 0.73–0.76 mm, width 0.51–0.53 mm, EI 1.40–1.43; widest slightly anterior to middle; apical margins of elytra almost straight. Each elytron with single basal fovea located in middle between humerus and scutellum; humeral carina as long as 1/8 of elytral length. Puncturation moderately coarse, punctures shallow, distance between punctures 0.5–2.0 times of their diameter. Setation moderately long, suberect to erect.

Metaventrite with shallow subtrapezoidal impression, very sparsely punctured, distance between punctures 2.0–3.0 times of their diameter with moderately short and erect setation; metaventral process slightly broader than 1/4 of maximum metaventral width, posteromesal margin slightly concave; lateral projections as long as broad, apex of each forming right angle with pointed tip.

Aedeagus ( Figs. 37–38 View FIGURES 37 – 40 ) length 0.28–0.29 mm, in ventral view with broadly subtrapezoidal apical part, gradually tapering to rounded apex; each paramere at apex weakly curved with long apical seta; endophallus as in Fig. 39 View FIGURES 37 – 40 .

Legs moderately long and slender; protibiae as in Fig.40 View FIGURES 37 – 40 .

Female. Very similar to male, except metaventrite which in middle is almost flat; body length 1.30 mm; head length 0.14 mm, width 0.26 mm; length of antennae 0.52 mm; pronotum length 0.40 mm, width 0.46 mm; length of elytra 0.76 mm, width of elytra 0.53 mm; EI 1.43.

Distribution. Greece.
