Material examined. JAPAN: Honshu, Toyama Prefecture, Unazuki, holotype male, 27. ix. 1984, M. Sasa (No. 279: 11).
Diagnostic characters. The species can be separated from other members of the genus by a small AR about 0.30; the broad inferior volsella with rounded, almost rectangular margin with many strong setae; and tergite IX well developed and covering the whole inferior volsella in dorsal view.
Additions to description. Total length / wing length 2.1. Wing length / length of profemur 2.2. Outer verticals 4, frontals 6. Tentorium 150 µm long, 25 µm wide. Dorsocentrals 10, scutellars 8. Squama with 7 setae. Palpomeres length (in µm): 18, 50, 70, 100, 120. Palpomere 2 and 3 ellipsoid, 4 and 5 rectangular, Palpomeres 5/3 1.7. Laterosternite IX with 9 long setae. Transverse sternapodeme 75 µm long, with well developed oral projections. Gonocoxite 185 µm long. Gonostylus 85 µm long. Megaseta 15 µm long. HR 2.2, HV 2.8. Distribution. The species is recorded from Japan.
