Remarks.
Colonies were dome-shaped. Several morphotypes in colony shape and color exist in this species (i.e., brown, gray, white, large, and small type). These morphotypes can also be distinguished by the partial sequence of the cytochrome oxidase subunit I (COI) gene ( M. Hirose et al. 2009; Hirose et al. 2010a). Brown-type colonies were found in the present survey. Prochloron cells were distributed within the common cloacal cavity. Testis and/or oocyte were found in some zooids.
