[Japanese name: Nagisa-hanekakushi-zoku]
Diagnosis. Among the Japanese intertidal rove beetle genera, Bryothinusa is very similar to the members of Salinamexus Moore & Legner, 1977 in body shape, especially their small size and slender body, but Bryothinusa is easily distinguished from it by having an elongate labium. Bryothinusa is also similar to Halorhadinus Sawada, 1971 , in general appearance including elongate labium, but can be distinguished from it by having a smaller body, oval aedeagal median lobe and simpler spermatheca.
