Mimafascia fasciata Sugi, 1982 . In Inoue et al., Moths of Japan Vol. 2: 892. Type-locality: Japan, Honshu, Gumma Pref., Numata.

Material examined. 1 male, China, Yunnan prov., Lancang, 8–9.ix.2008, leg. Han, H.L. & Qi, M. J., genit. prep. 6234 M. Fibiger, coll. NEFU.

Diagnosis. Wingpan 13–15 mm. Forewing light brown, broad with rounded costa; medial area black -brown; hindwing black -brown. Male genitalia with prominent 8th segment tergal and sternal plates; tegumen, vinculum, and saccus narrow; valvae broadest sub-basally; ampullae asymmetrical; digitus finger-like; phallus strongly coiled, apical end of ductus ejaculatorius with plate-like process. Female genitalia with prominently displaced ostium on left side; antrum heavily sclerotised, matching shape of phallus; membranous part of ductus bursae narrow; corpus bursae globular, with cross-shaped signum. The genus Mimachrostia is a member of the subfamily Parachrostiinae, and contains four species, all with a prominent 8th segment tergal and sternal plates.

Bionomics. The biotope is dominated by many herbaceous plants and shrubs, close to a brook. The single specimen was collected at light in mid September. In other regions the species is known to occur in two generations. The early stages are unknown.

Distribution ( Fig. 30 View FIGURES 26 – 30 ). China (Yunnan prov.), Russian Far East (Primorye and south of Khabarovsk terr.), North and South Korea, Japan (nominate subspecies). This species is recorded from China for the first time. It has not been found in Northeast China, althougth is known from the Russian Far East and the Korean peninsula in regions near China – all rather far from the north Yunnan ( Fibiger & Kononenko 2008). The subspecies M. fasciata minimus Fibiger, 2010 is described from Tsushima Island, Japan.
