TYPE LOCALITY: Sudan, Sennar, but probably Egypt, between Giza and Wadi Natron .
DISTRIBUTION: Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, W Egypt, Niger, N Chad and apparently Mali and Sudan.
STATUS: CITES - Appendix III ( Tunisia); U.S. ESA and IUCN - Endangered.
SYNONYMS: abuharab, cuvieri , loderi.
