Frutices foliis alternis, tripartitis, hirtis, resinaceis. Capitula homogama, hemisphaerica, in apice ramorum solitaria, breviter pedunculata. Involucri phylla in 4–5 seriebus. Receptaculum epaleaceum, alveolatum. Flores hermaphroditi. Pappus setis in seriebus duabus dispositis, externis brevibus, internis corollarum apices attingentibus. Antherae basi obtusae, apice ovato-lanceolatae. Styli filiformes, bifurcati, ramis longis paulo claviformibus, in dimidio superiore breviter papillosis, longe exserti. Cypselae dense pubescentes.

Shrubs with persistent leaves, alternate, tripartite, hirsute, resinous. Capitula discoid, homogamous, hemispheric, solitary, shortly pedunculate, terminal on little branches with few leaves, these gradually reduced in size towards the capitulum. Phyllaries in 4–5 series. Receptacles epaleate, alveolate. Florets hermaphrodite; pappus of numerous bristles, flattened, scabrid, arranged in two series; external series much shorter than the corolla tube, internal series several times longer than the external series and reaching the corolla apices in anthesis. Corollas tubular, infundibuliform, actinomorphic, with five lobes, reflexed to upcurved in maturity, with thickened margins. Androecium synantherous, five anthers easily separable, with an obtuse base and ovate lanceolate appendages. Ovary inferior, flattened, pilose. Styles filiform with two long linear branches slightly claviform, densely covered with short papillae on the upper half of each branch, long exserted from the corolla. Cypsela densely pubescent.
