Ceraia liebermanni Grant, 1964 View in CoL
Fig. 23C, D View FIGURE 23
Distribution: Brazil: Paraná, Santa Catarina; Paraguay, Uruguay.
New record for the Paraná State.
Comments: This species is also remarkably abundant and is syntopic with Ceraia cornutoides . The individuals are collected both in light traps as during active search both at night and day. The occurrence of this species seems to be restricted to areas southwards of the Tropic of Capricorn.
Bioacoustics ( Fig. 24A, B View FIGURE 24 ): Males produce isolated syllables only during the day, especially in the evening. The syllables are very conspicuous and consist in pulses that decrease in intensity, which are not grouped in echemes.
Dominant frequency: 10.2 ± 0.8 kHz.
Bandwidth: 3.7 ± 1.1 kHz.
Duration: Syllable: 0.08 ± 0.03 s.
Mute interval: Syllable: 0.006 ± 0.001 s.
