Hyperophora major Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878 View in CoL
Fig. 10F View FIGURE 10
Distribution: Argentina: Buenos Aires, Mendoza; Brazil: Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná; Paraguay: Paraguari.
New record for the Paraná State.
Comments: This species are so rare as H. gracilis and only one individual was collected in a light trap. Despite the brief description provided by Brunner von Wattenwyl (1878), the characters are consistent with the individual registered here. The general colour of the individual is green (turning yellowish after being pinned and dried), the pronotal disc is crimson, as the pronotal carina and the upper third of the lateral lobes of the pronotum, these latter presenting punctuations of the same colour in their lower two thirds.
Bioacoustics: Sound not recorded.
