Distribution: Brazil, Paraná.

New record for the Paraná State.

Comments: This is the first record of the species after its original description. This species also presents the lateral of the head white, as in P. latior , with the white stripe reaching the anterior coxae. Philophyllia venosa , however, presents a conspicuous yellow stain behind the eyes.

Bioacoustics: Sound not recorded.
