Type material. BRAZIL, Amazonas, Purupuru, Estrada Nunes de Melo Km. 8, holotype male, 30.XI.1998, without collector’s name ( INPA); 21 paratype male, same locality and date as holotype ( INPA); Silves (Caraça), paratype male, 30.VI.1997, without collector’s name ( INPA).
Etymology. spinata Latin , refers to format of the paramere.
Diagnosis. Radial fork situated apical to medial fork; apex of paramere with apical digitiform process and ending at same level of aedeagus apex; aedeagal apodeme widest at anterior portion, ending at same line as gonocoxal bridge.
Description. Male. Eyes separated by 0.5 facet diameters; interocular suture Y shaped; antenna incomplete in all specimens studied; scape cylindrical, 1.5X length of pedicel; pedicel spherical; basal flagellomeres nodiform, asymmetrical; ascoids not visible. Palpus incomplete in the 2 specimens studied. Wing with short Sc; radial fork apical to medial fork ( Fig. 18 View FIGURES 14 – 19 ). Male terminalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 14 – 19 ): sternite 9 Ushaped; posthypandrial plate 1/3 length of gonocoxite. Gonostyle same length as gonocoxite. Sternite 10 triangular. Tergite 10 triangular. Cercus with 10 apical tenacula with rounded tips. Apex of parameres ending at same level as aedeagus. Aedeagal apodeme wide at base, narrows near apex, ending at same level as gonocoxal bridge.
Distribution. Brazil, Amazonas (Silves).
