scientific name

Depressorotunda malayana
status

Type species Depressorotunda malayana sp. nov.

Remarks

The new genus is similar to the Rotundabaloghia Hirschmann, 1975 . The most important differences are summarized in the Table 1.

Systematic position

Unfortunately the families of the Uropodina View in CoL mites are not well defined and the system of the whole Uropodina View in CoL is confused. The new genus is provisionally placed in the family Uropodidae View in CoL [on the basis of the following characters: long and setiform h1 setae, chelicerae without internal sclerotized node and without mushroom-shaped or flower-shaped sensory organ on fixed digit and terminally smooth corniculi ( Lindquist et al. 2009)] but the members of this family also need revision.
