15. Egle setiapicoides View in CoL sp. nov.
Figs. 126–131 View FIGURES 126–131 , 189, 190 View FIGURES 187–190 .
Etymology. The specific epithet ‘setiapicoides’ is derived from setiapicis, existing epithet for a closely related, Nearctic species, and ‘-oides’, a Greek adjectival suffix meaning resembling.
Description. Extremely small, wing length 2.1–2.6mm.
Male. Prementum polished black, without any dusting. Subgena (narrow, bare sclerite between gena and subcranial cavity) also polished black. Parafacial in middle narrower than postpedicel. Lower facial margin weakly projected, reaching no further than level of fronto-parafacial angle. Genal setae few, standing in a single row. Prealar seta about half as long as posterior notopleural seta. Proepisternals 1; proepimerals 1–2. Lower calypter very reduced, forming a narrow fold with barely convex hind margin. Scutellum sometimes without usual minute setulae beneath tip. Submedian tibial setae: fore tibia with 0 pd- and 0 p-setae; mid tibia with 0 ad-, 1 pd- and 0 p-setae; hind tibia with 2–3 av-setae, without distinct p–pv-setae. Hind femur with some short pv-setae on basal half. Tergite VI small, firmly attached to fore margin of syntergosternite VII+VIII. Sternite V ( Figs. 126, 127 View FIGURES 126–131 ) characteristic, with 2 long, close-set setae at apex of posterior lobes; at transition between basal plate and posterior lobes with 2–3 lateral setae, otherwise bare except for some fine setulae in middle of hind marginal incision. Terminalia ( Figs. 128–131 View FIGURES 126–131 ): shape of surstyli and cerci diagnostic.
Female. Prementum and subgena polished black. Lower facial margin weakly projected, in line with fronto-parafacial angle. Prealar seta about half as long as posterior notopleural seta. Proepisternals 1(–2); proepimerals 1–2. Lower calypter very reduced, forming a narrow fold with barely convex hind margin. Scutellum sometimes without usual minute setulae beneath tip. Submedian tibial setae: fore tibia with 0 pd- and 0 p-setae; mid tibia with 1 short ad- and 1 pd-setae; hind tibia with 1–2 av-setae. Hind femur without pvsetae on basal half. Oviscapt ( Figs. 189, 190 View FIGURES 187–190 ): Sternites VI and VII widely membranised on middle part; sternite VIII absent; small epiproct bare; hypoproct V-shaped, with two pairs of setulae on apical part; cerci small and slender. Spermathecae two normal-sized and cross-wrinkled, one only retained as rudimentary duct.
Material examined. Type material [ ZMUC]: UZBEKISTAN: Samarqand , along river Zeravshan, 1 male, 2 females 22.v.1989, (M. Barták); Zeravshan reserve, deciduous wood, 5 males (including holotype), 2 females 21–22.v.1989 (M. Barták) .
Distribution. Known only from the type series from near Samarqand, Uzbekistan.
Relationships. Obviously very closely related to E. setiapicis ( Huckett, 1965) , a species known only from the male holotype from Yukon Territory ( Canada). On the basis of my own unpublished drawings of the holotype terminalia and Griffiths’ (2003) illustrated redescription of the holotype I find that E. setiapicis differs from E. setiapicoides as follows: Sternite V with posterior lobes broader, notably raised and angular at inner margins, apically with 3 long, close-set setae; surstyli more slender, in both lateral and rear views without a distinct medial notch distal to middle; apical extension of cerci apparently more slender.
