Etymology. The specific epithet ‘ignobilis’ is a Latin adjective meaning unnoticed or disregarded.

Description. Externally closely resembling E. parvaeformis but different as follows:

Male. Small, wing length 3.1–3.3 mm; n=2. Notopleuron without accessory setulae. Hind femur on basal half with longer pv-setae equal to depth of femur. Hind tibia without av-setae. Tergite VI firmly attached to fore margin of syntergosternite VII+VIII. Sternite V ( Figs. 109, 110 View FIGURES 109–114 ) with setal tufts consisting of only 4–5 equally long setae. Terminalia ( Figs. 109–114 View FIGURES 109–114 ): Distinctive, in particular shape and setation of surstyli diagnostic.

? Female. Wing length 3.0–3.8mm; n=3. Grey dusting of head and body with a dark brown tinge. Prealar seta only two-thirds length of posterior notopleural seta. Notopleuron without accessory setulae. Proepisternals 1; proepimerals 3–4. Hind tibia without av-setae. Hind femur on basal half with slightly longer pv-setae exceeding half length of femoral depth. Oviscapt ( Fig. 182, 183 View FIGURES 180–183 ) differs insignificantly as follows: Tergite VI and sternite VI less sclerotized on posterior parts, leaving spiracles VII isolated in membrane below lateral margins of tergite VI. Spermathecae smooth, without cross-wrinkled surface.

Material examined. Type material [ ZMUC]: DENMARK: NE Zealand: Utterslev Mose, 1 male (holotype) 15.iv.2008 ( V. Michelsen ) . SWEDEN: Skåne: Åbrolla, Osby, 1 male 3.iv.2007 ( V. Michelsen ). Doubtfully associated females . FINLAND [ FMNH]: Lapponia kemensis (W): Pallastunturi , 1 female (W.E. Hellén) . NORWAY [ ZMUC]: Sør-Trøndelag (inner): Kongsvoll, 900–1100m, 2 females 12–20.vi.1985 ( V. Michelsen ) .

Biology. Nothing is known, except that the males were collected in localities with flowering Eared willow ( Salix aurita L.), Grey willow ( S. cinerea L.) and Goat willow ( S. caprea L.).

Distribution. Known with certainty only from Denmark and southern Sweden. Doubtfully associated females are known from Finland and Norway.
