Holotype: MZUSP 104031 ; adult male, 477 mm DW (cited as 498 mm DW in Fontenelle et al. 2014) ( Fig. 13 ); Represa Samuel , district of Itapo ã do Oeste , Rio Madeira basin, Rio Jamari, Amazon basin, Rondônia State, Brazil, 9º4’33.96’’S, 63º18’17.64’’W; depth not listed; F. P. L. Marques et al.; May 2006.

Notes: Fontenelle et al. (2014) mistakenly cited this species as MZUSP 103031. Specimen with an incision on left dorsal pectoral fin and damage on right posterior disc margin. Branchial arches on right side removed, caudal fin end damaged and mandibular arch sectioned on lateral margins. Incision on anteroventral portion of caudal fin. Field no. AC 06-25.

Paratypes: MZUSP 104039 : AC 06-39; one adult male, 352 mm DW (approximately the same DW as cited in Fontenelle et al., 2014); Represa Samuel , district of Itapo ã do Oeste , Rio Madeira basin, Rio Jamari, Amazon basin, Rondônia State, Brazil, 9º4’33.96’’S, 63º18’17.64’’W; depth not listed; F. Notes: Specimen with discolouration on anterior right margin of disc. Mild damage on left dorsal portion of disc, posterior to the synarcual. Tail extending to medial portion of sting, damage on right ventral side. Right dorsomedial portion of caudal fin forming a ‘C-shaped’ scar.
