Description.
Two adult males 49.9-54.7 mm SVL, 97-98 regenerated mm SVL; 11.5-12.2 mm HeadL; 45-48% TrunkL/SVL, 54-55% HindlL/SVL, 22-23% HeadL/SVL, 62-63% HeadW/HeadL, 44-46% HeadH/HeadL, 39-40% SnEye/HeadL, 33-34% EyeEar/HeadL.
Natural history notes.
Seen and captured among forest leaf litter.
General Distribution.
Widespread, Nepal to western China southward through Myanmar and Southeast Asia into Peninsular Malaysia.
Molecular Data.
Our COI sequences are 7.1-7.5% divergent from specimens in BOLD from Vietnam (not publicly available). Our 16S sequences are 100% identical to a specimen in GenBank (AB028821) from Kaeng Krachan, Thailand ( Honda et al. 2000b) and were placed with this individual and other S. maculatus in GenBank.
