Zoogeographic element. Euro-Caucasian.
Distribution. Widespread in Europe, from Northern ( Sweden, Northern Russia) to Southern ( Italy), westward to England, eastward to the Balkans, Caucasus and Asia Minor.
Distribution in Romania. Epigeal records. Mehadia (FQ07) (Kuthy 1896); Sighişoara (LM21), Turnu Roşu (KL85), Sovata (LM55), Negoi (LL14), Rodnei Mt. (LN25), Haţeg (FR55) (all: Petri 1912); Babadag (PK37) (1.VI.1991, EN leg., ISER). Hypogeal records. Cheile Caraşului (MSS) (ER60) (29.XI.2003, VI leg., ISER), P. Ecological status. Trogloxene.
