Lectotype (designated here): — COSTA RICA. San José, Escazú , November 1846, Ørsted 14327 (lectotype: C10009199 !; isolectotype: C10009198 !).
Nomenclatural notes:— In the protologue is not stated the collector number and the herbarium where the type of Urostigma sapidum was deposited. Berg & DeWolf (1975) are the first to propose the material Liebmann 14327 preserved in C as the lectotype (inadvertent lectotyping, Art. 7.11). However, there are two duplicates in this herbarium ( C10009198 and C10009199 ) without a label indicating that one is part of the other, therefore they are duplicates and it will be necessary to choose the final lectotype (Art. 8.3). Here we chose the specimen with the barcode C10009199 as the lectotype because it contains stem, stipule, leaves, and syconia with ostiole preserved. In the protologue it is not described the date of the collection, but the types report that it was carried out in November 1846 .
Taxonomical note:— Ficus sapida was synonymized by Berg & Villavicencio (2004) and Berg (2007) as F. pertusa .
