Material examined: THAILAND: 1 ♀, Doi Inthanon Nat. Park , Siriphum, Chieng Mai Province, 1200−1300 m, 21−24.x.1984, leg. Karsholt, Lomholdt & Nielsen, genitalia slide No. ZMUC-NK014 .

Distribution. China (Guangdong, Hainan, Hong Kong), India, Sri Lanka (Kurunegala, Puttalam), Thailand (Chieng Mai), Vietnam (Gialai-Kontum, Son La).

Remarks. The specimens of Promalactis semantris ( Meyrick, 1906) collected from China, Thailand and Vietnam are almost the same in the male genitalia as those of P. semantris from the type locality dissected by Clarke (1963) except slight variations on the dorso-distal part of valva. However, the forewing lacks the basal white streak versus the original description by Meyrick (1906). So the type series of P. semantris described by Meyrick should be dissected and checked, and detailed clarification will be discussed in a separate paper.

Notes. This species is newly recorded in Thailand.
