Diagnosis. From all Australian species N. polydaedala differs by presence of large (0.4 × width of forewing) yellow stripe near costal margin of forewing inside the dark brown fascia.
Description. Male ( Figs. 13 View FIGURES 9 – 13 , 20). FWL 5.7 mm, WLR 0.33. Vertex pale ochreous brown; frons glossy golden. PLB 0.5 × vertical eye diameter, light ochreous brown. Proboscis light brown, base with bronze scales. Eyes enlarged; interocular index 1.25; occipital index 0.10. Antenna 3.1 × FWL. Scape and basal half of flagellum bronze, distal half white; pegs absent; basal 15–25 flagellar segment with white markings on ventral side. Tegulae and thorax dark bronze. Forewing coppery bronze; basal field yellow with golden lustre, externally bordered by thin line of brown scales which approaches costa at 0.30 × FWL and dorsum at 0.22 × FWL. Glossy silver spot along costa short (0.18 × FWL). Fascia dark brown, with yellow stripe (reaching 0.4 × width of forewing) inside. Tornal spot absent. Fringe bronze. Hindwing light brown to brown with slight coppery tint; costal area grey; fringe light brown to grey. Legs bronze to brown, apices of all tibiae and tarsomeres distally darker, sometimes with coppery tint. Epiphysis at 0.5, not reaching apex of tibia. Abdomen brown with bronze lustre; basal sternites glossy golden.
Female unknown.
Comment. Abdomen of the holotype is lost; male genitalia unknown.
