Redescription. Male. Color black, matte in general; head and pronotum black to chestnut brown; antennae yellowish brown, though scape slightly darker; tarsi dark chestnut brown. Body partly clothed with silvery white pubescence on sides near apex and base of pronotum, bases and apical fourth or so of elytra, along basal margin of metaventrite, and apical margin of abdominal ventrite I; each elytron with two bands of dense, irregularly oriented, silvery white pubescence, of which the anterior band being oblique at basal third, and the posterior band being transverse near middle.

Head moderately large, provided with shallow medium-sized punctures on coarse shagreened integument; tempora 4/5 length of longitudinal diameter of eyes. Antennae moderately stout, as long as body in male; scape approximately 1.4 times as long as antennomere III; antennomeres V‒VII very slightly dilated apicad. Pronotum with a pair of obtuse lateral swellings near middle; disc almost even, punctate as on head though median area partly smooth and/or provided with medium to large irregularly shaped punctures. Scutellum spatula shaped. Elytra more than 2.5 times as long as maximum width at apical fifth, slightly emarginate on each apex, which has blunt sutural and external angles. Prosternal process strongly narrowed to large subquadrate apical part. Mesoventral process relatively narrow, almost parallel-sided. Metaventrite moderately reduced, about 4/5 of basal width. Legs moderately stout; hind femora not so strongly clavate in other two pairs; tibiae arcuate though gently sinuate in each apical half; tarsi moderate in width, with pro-tarsomere I weakly dilated apicad. Abdomen with ventrite I 4/5 length of following four segments combined.

Male genitalia. Median lobe ( Figs. 19‒20 View FIGURES 19–30. 19–24 ) slightly shorter than half of abdomen length, approximately 3.6 times as long as maximum width near middle; apical lobe (ventral plate) narrowed apicad in a sinuate line, with blunt margin at sides just before middle, apical part thick and slightly turned up in lateral view, rounded at apical margin on dorsal view; dorsal plate smaller, trapezoidal, narrowly truncate on apical margin; median orifice dehiscent only 2/5 length of median struts. Endophallus ( Figs. 21‒22 View FIGURES 19–30. 19–24 ) with median stem of trifurcated sclerite slightly longer than lateral plates, a pair of warped plates before trifurcated sclerites relatively wide, markedly warped anteriorly at each base, fine plate behind trifurcated sclerites sinuate in lateral view, split into two approximate stems from near base. Tegmen ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 19–30. 19–24 ) elongate and ovate; paramere recognized as short transverse plate, sparsely clothed with short setae on apical margin. Eighth tergite ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 19–30. 19–24 ) rounded on apical margin of each lobe, which is densely clothed with long setae mostly on inner half. Eighth sternite ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 19–30. 19–24 ) forming a pair of subtriangular plates, with a short broad stem at the middle of basal margin.

Female. Body with antennae and legs narrower or more slender than in male. Antennae not reaching elytral apices. Abdomen moderate in width, slightly expanding posteriorly. Ventrite II ( Fig. 17 View FIGURES 15–18. 15–17 ) widely and weakly emarginate near middle of apical margin, provided with moderately developed rake organ.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): BL 8.96 mm (8.0 mm in holotype male in Miroshnikov & Tichý (2018)); HW/PA 1.29; HW/PW 1.09; FL/FW 0.50; FA/FW 0.78; PL/PW 1.51; PL/PA 1.79; PB/PA 0.77; EL/EW 2.60; EL/EHW 5.41; EL/PL 2.09; EHW/PB 0.90. Female (n = 1): BL 7.36 mm; HW/PA 1.32; HW/PW 1.09; FL/FW 0.67; FA/FW 0.89; PL/PW 1.52; PL/PA 1.82; PB/PA 0.75; EL/EW 2.47; EL/EHW 5.72; EL/PL 2.11; EHW/PB 0.90.

Specimens examined. 1 male, 1 female ( HUMS), “ INDIA: TAMIL N. / Jawad Hill / 14 DEC 1978 / JAP‒IND CO TR” .

Distribution. India: Hyderabad and Tamil provinces.

Remarks. A pair of specimens examined from Jawad Hill, Tamil Province, may be slightly different morphologically from the type population from Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad Province, possibly due to both populations being separated by approximately 530 km and because the species of Indapiodes are flightless. We identified the specimens from Tamil as being I. bifasciatus based on the text and figures in the original description.
