C o m m e n t: The distribution of M. despectus is confined to Algeria, Tunisia, and the Italian island Pantelleria ( ASSING 2005a, 2006). Previous records from Spain and Morocco (see SMETANA 2004) are evidently based on a confusion with the similar M. cauchoisi .
