M a t e r i a l e x a m i n e d: Morocco: 1 ex., Essaouira, XII.2002, leg. de Rougemont (cRou). Spain, Canary Islands: 2 exs., Tenerife, La Laguna, 15.X.2003, leg. Oromí (cOro, cAss).

C o m m e n t: The distribution of this subspecies includes Northwest Africa, the Canary Islands, and Sicily, possibly also the Azores ( ASSING 2006). In the Canarian Islands, M. d. quadriceps was previously known only from Fuerteventura and Lanzarote; the above specimens from Tenerife represent a new island record.
