Diagnosis. Species of small to medium size (3.9–5.0 mm), characterised by rostrum not wider at base than at pterygium level, antennal funicle robust, elytra short and wide, with scales not or weakly imbricate on dorsum, even on the declivity with appressed, hardly visible setae, pterygia obsolete or weakly prominent and eyes moderately subconvex. The species is very similar to E. susanae , distinguishable, apart from characters listed in the key, also by its coppery coloration.

Description. Dorsal vestiture composed of oblong scales, rounded on elytra, not or slightly imbricate, coppery, sporadically darker or lighter forming irregular, diffuse spots, and short, wide setae, appressed, grouped in desquamulate areoles on elytral declivity. Head with sides subparallel in males, converging apicad in females. Rostrum transverse, not wider at base than at pterygium level, pterygia obsolete or weakly prominent; metarostrum with median keel; prorostrum with sides not elevated, almost straight. Frons rather wide, with median fovea. Eyes normal, moderately subconvex. Antennae with scape incrassate only at apical third, funicle rather narrow, at least desmomeres 5–7 transverse, desmomere 1 not or barely longer than 2, with filiform setae at least in basal half, like all following desmomeres; club rather elongate, first segment widely cupshaped. Pronotum transverse, not very rounded at sides, wider at base than at apex, disc with double, dense (male) or very dense (female), deep punctures. Elytra subglobose, strial punctures close, interstriae flat, finely and sparsely punctured. Legs moderately robust; tibiae strongly widened at apex, metatibiae in male with a series of small teeth on inner margin. Aedeagus in dorsal view lanceolate apically ( Fig. 34a); endophallic structures as in Fig. 34b. Spermatheca as in Fig. 55a.

Etymology. The specific epithet is an adjective related to the region where the new species has been found, Andalusia.

Distribution. Iberian endemite: Andalusia ( Fig. 74).
