Lectotype (Al-Eisawi & Jury in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 94. 1993): Herb. Clifford: 90, Tordylium 4 (BM-000558244) .

Generitype of Tordylium Linnaeus (vide Hitchcock, Prop. Brit. Bot.: 139. 1929).

Current name: Tordylium maximum L. ( Apiaceae ).

Note: Alavi (in Rechinger, Fl. Iranica 162: 465. 1987) indicated 337.4 (LINN) as type, but the sheet lacks the Species Plantarum number (i.e. “4”) and was a post-1753 addition to the herbarium, and is not original material for the name.
