Euplectus jonicus jonicus View in CoL was described based on a male holotype and a female allotype from “Cefalonia”, E. jonicus corcyreus View in CoL based on a unique female holotype from “Corfù presso Karoussadek” ( MEGGIOLARO 1966). Without further explanations, BESUCHET (2004) synonymized E. jonicus jonicus View in CoL with E. corcyreus View in CoL . This synonymy, however, is invalid, since E. jonicus View in CoL has priority over E. corcyreus ( ICZN 1999) View in CoL . In order to meet the requirements of the Code, the synonymy is corrected (reversed) as indicated above.
