( Fig. 36)

Material examined. One larva, BRAZIL, SP, São Carlos, Fazenda Canchim, Córrego do Canchim, 21°54´S, 47° 52´W, artificial substrate, iv.2009, G. Nunes; two larvae, São Carlos , UFSCar, Córrego do Espraiado, 21°58.112´S, 47°52.265´W, artificial substrate, iv.2009, G. Nunes GoogleMaps .

Diagnostic characters. This larva can be differentiated from other larvae of the genus by the presence of two spines on the head, anterior to the eyes spots and two anal setae on each procercus instead of the usual four found on the other species of the genus.

Larva (n = 2)

Head. Postmentum 160–163 µm long. Head capsule integument of larva apparently smooth. Two spines on the head anterior to eyes spots ( Fig. 36 A). Mentum with two median teeth, first lateral teeth adpress to the median ( Fig. 36 C). Antenna 225 µm long, segments two and three darker. First segment shorter than postmentum length.

Abdomen. Ventral setae modified, taeniate and longer than the half of the segment width. Subbasal seta on posterior parapod split from the base with one spine longer ( Fig. 36 D). Only two anal setae present on each procercus.

Metric and meristic features in Table 4.
