"Phyllocnistina"—Herrich-Schäffer, G.A.W. 1857. Korrespondenzblatt des zoologisch-mineralischen Vereines in Regensburg 11(3–5): 58. Type genus: Phyllocnistis Zeller, 1848 . Included as a subfamily in Nye & Fletcher (1991), Davis and Robinson (1998), and De Prins and De Prins (2005) within the Gracillariidae . Treated as a separate family by Powell and Opler (2009).
