Tenucephalus umbrinus View in CoL n. sp.
( Figs. 82 View FIGUIRE 82 , 85 View FIGUIRE 85 )
Diagnosis. T. umbrinus can be identified by a combination of the typical color pattern, dorsal pygofer process more or less paralleling dorsal margin of pygofer and reaching pygofer apex, connective-aedeagus without pair of basal processes and without unpaired dorsal process of aedeagus, and aedeagus sickle-shaped in lateral view and very narrow in ventral or caudal view.
Body. Male 5.3–5.5 mm. Female, 5.1 mm to wing apex
Color. With the typical color pattern; with significant shading along forewing veins.
Male. Pygofer in lateral view taller near midlength; with numerous macrosetae on posterior half; dorsal processes arising near midlength of pygofer, roughly paralleling dorsal margin of pygofer, reaching pygofer apex, apices pointed and curved ventrad. Valve width more than 2x median length; anterior margin slightly produced me- dially. Subgenital plates triangular; with single row of ~10 macrosetae near lateral margin; laterally with other long fine setae. Style preapical lobe not distinct; apophysis moderately thick, gently curved laterad. Connective-aedeagus without symmetrical pair of processes fused near aedeagal base; without unpaired dorsal process. Aedeagus simple, falcate; gonopore preapical on ventral side; very narrow in ventral view. Segment X sclerotized laterally. Phragma with numerous long setae along entire lobe.
Female. Sternite VII posterior margin broadly excavated medially, forming broadly rounded lateral lobes.

Etymology. The species name is an adjective and refers to the shadowing on the forewing veins which is prominent in this species.
Distribution. This species is known only from the series of specimens from a survey of the Serra da Mesa.
