Lectotype (Ali in Bot. Not. 120: 50. 1967): Herb. Linn. No. 907.5 ( LINN) .

Current name: Vicia hirsuta (L.) Gray View in CoL ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Jarvis & al. (Regnum Veg. 127: 46. 1993) wrongly listed E. hirstum as the generitype, in error for E. tetraspermum . Some authors (e.g. Verdcourt in Milne-Redhead & Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Leguminosae 4: 1072. 1971) have treated Herb. Clifford material as the type but the choice made by Ali is the earliest.
