One ♂ (box 11) in the collection as Thesprotia infumata (Serville, 1839) is almost certainly a syntype. This specimen, unfortunately rather damaged, carries three handwritten labels: "♂ Amer. meri. coll. Jurine", " Thesprotia filiformis " (green paper) and " Thesprotia infumata (Serv.) det. Beier". This species name is now considered a junior synonym of Thesprotia infumata (Serville, 1839) .
