5 ♂ syntypes (box 17) with two handwritten labels: "♂ Bahia blanca Rep. Arg. env. G. Claraz" and " Coptopteryx crenaticollis Blanch. " (green paper). The specimens were placed in the collection as “ C. crenaticollis Blanchard ” because Saussure (1870) considered C. claraziana a junior synonym of this species. “ C. crenaticollis ” is a nomen nudum however, and C. claraziana is the valid name.
