Lordiphosa kimurai Katoh, Toda & Gao , sp. nov.

(Pls 1F, 3–5F, 7F; Fig. 8 View FIGURE 8 )

Diagnosis. First and 2nd tarsomeres of male foreleg dorsodistally extended, with sex-combs: 1 st tarsomere with a longitudinal row of 27–32 black, apically blunt teeth along entire length and a cluster of 7–11 black, apically sharp teeth distally; 2nd tarsomere with a distal cluster of 6–9 black, apically sharp teeth ( Fig. 8A,B View FIGURE 8 ). Cercus ventrally tapered, elongated ventrad, with a fringe of 8–10 spines on apicoventral margin ( Fig. 8C,F View FIGURE 8 ). Paramere flat, somewhat blade-shaped, only slightly curved ventrad, apically sharp and narrower than basal portion, subapically with 2 lateral sensilla and 1 acute, dorsal, somewhat membranous process bearing 1 sensillum at apex ( Fig. 8I –M View FIGURE 8 ). Gonopods as long as aedeagus, somewhat narrow and dorsosubapically swollen in lateral view, without dorsoapical projection ( Fig. 8K View FIGURE 8 ). Spermathecal capsule not wrinkled horizontally, with apical indentation ( Fig. 8P View FIGURE 8 ).

Description (characters commonly seen in L. mikioides sp. nov. not repeated) (♂, ♀). Head (Pls 1F, 3–5F, 7F): Frontal vitta blackish brown. Fronto-orbital plate yellowish brown to dark brown, mediolaterally to anteriorly blackish brown. Ocellar triangle yellowish brown, marginally darker. Occiput dorsally yellowish brown, ventrally blackish brown. Postgena blackish brown, laterally paler, ventrally yellowish brown. Antennal pedicel brown to dark brown; 1 st flagellomere grayish yellow to dark gray; arista with short branches, 3–4 dorsal and 0–1 ventral, and minute terminal bifurcation. Supracervical setulae 19¯20 per side; postocular setae 18–20 per side. Clypeus pale brown. Cibarium with 28–29 medial and 16–18 posterior sensilla per side.

Thorax (Pl. 1F) yellowish brown. Postpronotal lobe slightly darker on anterior margin. Mesonotum sometimes caudomedially darker. Scutellum medially somewhat grayish. Acrostichal setulae in ca. 6 irregular rows. Mid katepisternal seta indistinguishable from those below it.

Abdomen (Pl. 1F): Tergites nearly entirely black, somewhat glossy; tergite II laterally pale yellowish brown; female tergite VII yellowish brown, marginally dark brown to black.

Male terminalia ( Fig. 8C–M View FIGURE 8 ): Epandrium yellowish brown, nearly entirely pubescent, with ca. 17 long setae per side. Cercus yellowish brown, pubescent except for ventral elongation, with ca. 26 long setae. Surstylus with a row of ca. 17 prensisetae on caudal margin and ca. 53 recurved setae on ventral portion of inner surface. Tenth sternite pale brown, moderately sclerotized, broadly concaved dorsad, forming dome. Hypandrium triangular in ventral view. Aedeagus membranous except for apex and ventral margin, nearly entirely sheathed with gonopods.

Female terminalia ( Fig. 8N–P View FIGURE 8 ): Tergite VIII yellowish brown. Epiproct and hypoproct grayish yellow. Sternite VII dark brown. Oviscapt valve apically with ca. 8 and 7̄9 ovisensilla on dorsal and ventral margins, respectively, laterally with ca. 83 minute ovisensilla. Spermathecal capsule introvert about 5/9 height of capsule.

Paratypes. CHINA: 2♂, 1♀ (#06063, #06064, #06066), same data as holotype ( NTUM, KIZ) ; 1♂ (#06067; KIZ), 1♀ (#06068; NTUM), 1♂, 1♀ ( SEHU), same data as holotype except for 13–15.vii.2017, ex banana bait trap.

Distribution. China ( Taiwan)

Ecological notes. Four specimens of this species were collected by net sweeping over flowering Impatiens plants, suggesting the flower-visiting habit of this species.

Etymology. Patronym, in honor of Prof. M. T. Kimura at Hokkaido University, who collected the specimens of this new species.

Remarks. This species closely resembles the foregoing new species, L. mikioides sp. nov., in having the particular sex-combs and in the shape of terminalia, but can be distinguished from it by the arista with small branches and minute terminal bifurcation (nearly bare in L. mikioides ), the gonopods dorsoapically without process (with sharp process in L. mikioides ), and the spermathecal capsule apically indented (apically not indented in L. mikioides ).
