M a t e r i a l s t u d i e d: Holotype: Yunnan, Manfei, Nabanhe conv., Li & Tang 10.I.2004 ( SNUC).

D e s c r i p t i o n: Length of body about 13 mm; from anterior margin of head to posterior margin of elytra: 6 mm. Head and pronotum black, elytra red with black scutellum; abdomen reddish black; genital segment reddish; antennae and legs brown. Head and pronotum shiny. Head and pronotum and related puncturation as in Fig. 25 View Figs 25-29 . Labrum as in Fig. 26 View Figs 25-29 . Elytra longer and wider than pronotum, posteriad dilated, with scarcely marked humeral angles. Surface with wide, not deep punctures (apart a median oblique serie), arranged in some series: 2-3 near the suture, 1 median, 2-3 lateral. Abdomen with traces of transverse micro-striature and fine puncturation, arranged in some series. The segments partially shiny.

Tergite and sternite of the male genital segment as in Figs 27-28 View Figs 25-29 . Aedeagus ( Fig. 29 View Figs 25-29 ) 1,3 mm long, similar to that of Thyreocephalus pseudorquini nov.sp.; longer median lobe, with less rounded apex and wider inner sac.

E t y m o l o g y: The specific epithet refers to the type locality, as a noun in apposition.

G e o g r a p h i c a l d i s t r i b u t i o n: The species is known only from the type locality, in Yunnan.
