MCZR–M–12718/P —1 sh (Paralectotype) “ Ch. furtivus Monts Palermo ”
Type locality. Palermo (Sicily).
Remarks. Both the structure of valves and the morphology of the girdle elements suggest that Chiton furtivus belongs to the genus Lepidochitona J.E. Gray, 1821 (Kaas & van Belle, 1981: 37). Gaglini (in Settepassi, 1985) designated and figured the lectotype. Recorded by MolluscaBase (2018) as Lepidochitona furtiva (Monterosato, 1879) .
