Persian Gulf. UAE ( De Grave 2007), Iran (present study).

Iran. Hormozgan Province: Qeshm I. (Basaeedu, Dustku).

General distribution. Pantropical: South Africa to Red Sea, from the Persian Gulf throughout the Indian and Pacific oceans; Caribbean Sea (Chace 1972).

Habitat. Rocky/cobble intertidal, associated with sea anemones ( Anthozoa).

Remarks. De Grave (2007) recorded this species based on a single female from 9.4 m from Qatar. Several specimens from Qeshm I., collected during this investigation, confirm the occurrence of this widely distributed tropical species in the Persian Gulf.
