Lectotype (Knapp & Clarkson in Taxon 53: 844. 2004): [icon] " Nicotiana , foliis ovato-lanceolatis obtusis rugosis, calycibus brevissimis" in Miller, Fig. Pl. Gard. Dict. 2: 124, t. 185, f. 2. 1757. - Epitype (Knapp & Clarkson in Taxon 53: 845. 2004): Mexico. "E Vera Cruz Houston" in Herb. Miller ( BM) .

Current name: Nicotiana plumbaginifolia Viv. View in CoL ( Solanaceae ).

Note: Knapp & al. (in Taxon 53: 74. 2004) noted that this is synonymous with the widespread and well-known N. plumbaginifolia Viv., and Knapp & Clarkson (in Taxon 53: 844. 2004) successfully proposed the rejection of N. pusilla .
