Current name: Castilleja pallida (L.) Spreng. View in CoL ( Scrophulariaceae ).

Note: See discussion by Pennell (in Proc. Acad. Nat. Sci. Philadelphia 86: 522. 1935) on the descriptions of Gmelin and Steller collections. He concluded that the typical form should apply to the former but did not associate the name with material in LINN (where he appeared to believe, incorrectly, that both collections existed).
