5. Impatiens disotis Hooker (1906: 43 View in CoL & 48).

Type citation:—“ S. Western Ghats of Travancore and Tinnevelli Hills, alt. 4,000 ft. ”

Type:— INDIA. Travancore, Devicolam, 6000 ft., December 1910, Meebold 13936 (neotype K 000683314!, designated here).

Distribution:— India, endemic (Kerala and Tamil Nadu).

Notes:—The above neotype is required since all original material seems lost. In the protologue, Hooker (1906) cited only localities, but in keeping with the practice of the time, he did not designate a holotype. Hooker’s types are known to be mainly at K, some Indian materials at BM, BR, CAL, E, G, L, M, MANCH, MH, NY and P, but no original material of the species collected from southern Western Ghats regions of Travancore and Tirunelveli hills in 1906 or before was found there. Thus the specimen collected by Meebold from the type locality in December 1910 at K (K000683314) is chosen as neotype here. The specimen is well preserved, has mature leaves, well developed flowers and drawing of floral parts on the sheet by Hooker.
