STATUS. — Resident; Breeding.

REMARK. — Sometimes treated as conspecific with Onychognatus morio (Linnaeus, 1766) , so all the records of O. morio from western Africa should be referred to O. neumanni including those from Burkina Faso ( Borrow & Demey 2014; del Hoyo & Collar 2016).
