Genus Paralepidonema gen. nov.

Description. Female. Cervical cuticle with alternate rows of scale-like projections, first row with 20 elements. Head smaller and disk-shaped, bearing eight oval papillae arranged in 4 pairs and a pair of amphids. First cephalic annule larger than head. Oral opening nearly triangular, surrounded by a cuticular flap. Oesophageal procorpus subcylindrical. Vulva near midbody. Didelphic-amphidelphic. Tail attenuate. Male unknown.

Type species. Paralepidonema baoshanensis sp. nov.

Distribution. China.

Etymology. The genus name refers to the close resemblance between this genus and Lepidonema Cobb, 1898 .
