Names.

Myanmar: se-kalon. English: devil’s claw, iceplant, tiger’s claw.

Range.

China, Cambodia, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Vietnam; native of Central America, introduced and naturalized elsewhere. Cultivated in Myanmar.

Uses.

Fruit: Used in tuberculosis and for inflammation.

Note.

Reported medicinal uses for this species include alexiteric, adenopathy, alopecia, carbuncle, epilepsy, inflammation, scabies, sores, sore throat, and gargle ( Duke 2009).
