Ephialtes diversicostae Perkins, 1943: 256 . Lectotype: female; TD: ZI.

Diagnosis. Body 13–14 mm; fore wing 10.5–11 mm; ovipositor 12 mm long.

Body black. Palpi yellowish brown. Clypeus and fore and mid legs reddish brown except coxae black; hind leg dark brown except coxa black. Antenna with 31 flagellomeres.

Head parallel, not narrowing behind eyes in dorsal view. Face sparsely punctate and polished. Frons glabrous, sparsely wrinkles. Malar space 0.25 × as long as mandible base. Occiput glabrous. Pronotum with wrinkles on ventral area. Speculum weak convex; mesopleural pit weakly present. Prepectal carina extending above corner of pronotum and curved forward, reaching anterior margin of mesopleuron weakly. Propodeum without carina; median part of propodeum concave and polished; the rest of propodeum rugosely punctate. Fifth hind tarsus as long as third. First tergite elongate, longer than second, second tergite quadrate. Petiole with spiracle before the middle of petiole. Dorsal lobe of ovipositor with four spaced ridges, steeply descending.

Distribution. South Korea (new record), Austria, Belarus, China, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Russia (Magadanskaya Oblast, Primor'ye Kray, Tuvinskaya Respublika), Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, United Kingdom ( Yu et al., 2012).

Region. Eastern Palaearctic, Western Palaearctic.

Host. Acanthocinus aedilis (Sheng et al. 2002; Sheng & Sun 2010), Saperda scalaris hieroglyphica ( Sheng & Sun 2010) .
