Ins leucocephala (Wulp) View in CoL , n. comb.
Anthrax leucocephala Wulp, 1882: 81 View in CoL .
Villa (Hemipenthes) leucocephala (Wulp) . Painter & Painter 1974: 238.
Hemipenthes leucocephala (Wulp) . Evenhuis 1983: 477.
Types. Holotype male from ARGENTINA [no further data], Weyenb.”, “641” in NHML. Type examined by Paint- er & Painter (1974: 238).
Diagnosis. Similar to I. pleuralis (Williston) in wing venation with the anal cell not completely infuscated, but can be separated from it by the dimidiate infuscation (fading posteriorly in I. pleuralis ), and the infuscation in cell r2+3 not extending much past origin of R 2+3 (this infuscation extending almost to the origin of R 4 in I. pleuralis ).
Remarks. Although no material of this species was examined in this study, the detailed description of the type plus photo of the wing in Painter & Painter (1974), who placed it in the celeris group and mentioned the small patch of scales on the meron, allow me to confidently classify this species in Ins , n. gen. and to place it in the key.
Distribution. Argentina.
