Current name: Hedysarum spinosissimum L. subsp. spinosissimum ( Fabaceae : Faboideae ).

Note: Although the identity of Herb. Linn. No. 921.62 ( LINN) was discussed earlier by Heyn (in Israel J. Bot. 12: 190. 1963), she did not refer to the specimen as the type (or any equivalent), so Jafri’s statement is accepted as the earliest formal choice of type.
