Oxyopes heterophthalmus (Latreille, 1804)
Distribution
One of the most common species of the genus Oxyopes Latreille, 1804 and with a very wide distribution, comprising the entire temperate and warm zone of the Palaearctic Region. It as been cited from numerous localities in Portugal and it has also been mentioned in the District of Beja ( Cardoso et al. 2009).

Oxyopes heterophthalmus is usually distinguished by a very pronounced brown pigmentation that separates it from another of the most common species, Oxyopes lineatus Latreille, 1806. The juveniles we have identified correspond to this typology; however, given the variability observed, it is possible that some specimens do not correspond to this species.
