Distribution: —The species is known only from the type locality in northwestern Armenia in Shirak province ( Fig. 63).

Habitat: —Grows in a subalpine meadow, on the SWW slope of Mt Ampasar, with NW exposure, 2225–2230 m.

Hosts: —Parasitic on Psephellus pulcherrimus (Willd.) Wagenitz [ Aetheopappus pulcherrimus (Willd.) Cass. ] ( Asteraceae ).

Phenology: —Flowering in the first half of July, fruiting in the end of July to early August.

Conservation status: —Critically Endangered (CR) – B 1 ab (iii) + 2 ab (iii); D. So far, known only from one locality from Armenia. The population is small, ca. 30 individuals. Limiting factors are restricted EOO and AOO.

Notes: — Orobanche arpica clearly belongs morphologically and phylogenetically to species from the O. ser. Krylowianae Piwow., Ó. Sánchez & Moreno Mor., O. subsect. Curvatae (Beck) Piwow., Ó. Sánchez & Moreno Mor. (see also key, and comparative table with related species and discussion in Piwowarczyk et al. 2018c).
